You see, if you know anything about me, it’s the fact that I love winter. I know its weird, but I just love it.
Maybe it’s an excuse for more cha (tea) or maybe it’s the feeling of wrapping up and wearing lots of layers. Or… buying another, yes ANOTHER overcoat (the eyes are rolling again)- I guess it all just feels so homely. I did this shoot in Birmingham. Living here for the past 2 years as a student, I’ve always passed this location. The bridges and small canals were a perfect location for a shoot.
Blending dark colors was surely an aim for the shoot. Being winter, I think a range of subtle colours’ look well together. Whilst working at Reiss I bought the coat I’m wearing. It’s honestly my favorite. Warm, cosy, and it is just perfect for the winter time. Investing in a good quality coat is a must, they’re just suitable for any occasion. You can dress them up with a suit or even wear them casually with a jumper/tshirt, like I did.
The thing with an overcoat is, it either makes or breaks your outfit. You need to make sure you’ve got the fit perfect, it needs to be tapered to you. Otherwise it will look like you’re wearing a blanket. Literally.
For this shoot, I wanted to keep the vibe very casual yet smart. I think we got some bad ass shots though? Short and sweet for now, What do you guys think?
Thank you all for the support lately. The blogs been going really well and I have a lot more dope content coming for you guys. I believe in collaborating, not competing. So if any bloggers/photographers would like to get in touch, hit me up! We could meet for a coffee and maybe even go for… A Casual Stroll.
